Top court won't hear Anglican property dispute

This just in fromCanada-

The Supreme Court will not wade into a property fight between the Anglican Church and dissident congregations.

Four British Columbia parishes broke away from the mainstream church over the controversial issue of same-sex blessings.

The Anglican Church had asked the Supreme Court to end the legal squabble over who owns church properties and bank accounts used by dissident congregations.

The high court has granted that request by dismissing the dissident's leave to appeal.

As per its custom, the court did not give reasons for deciding not to hear the case.

The breakaway group has said it would vacate church buildings if the Supreme Court refused to hear their case.
