The Rt. Rev. John McKee Sloan Elected 11th Bishop of Alabama

The Rt. Rev. John McKee Sloan was elected 11th Bishop of Alabama on July 16, 2011, during a special meeting of the 180th Convention of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Alabama.

Sloan was elected on the first ballot during voting held at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham. Sloan currently is Alabama's suffragan bishop.
