From New Zealand-
St Mary's Anglican Church will have more than one reason to celebrate Pentecost this Sunday. They will also toll one of their quake-hit church bells on its new frame for the first time.Priest Associate Rory Redmayne, 65, spearheaded an effort to get the peal of bells, which had to be dismantled after the quake, back into service. The Merivale church's bell tower was badly damaged in the February quake and had to be taken down. This followed damage to St Mary's in the September quake, which forced parishioners to hold services elsewhere. The largest of the peal of eight bells retrieved from the rubble was broken - and while the other seven remained intact, the frame was badly damaged.''The idea occurred to me that it would be a symbol of hope to have at least one of those bells ringing again,'' Mr Redmayne said.''I thought one bell was better than none.''More here-
