"Jesus Christ is my chief Druid": meet the Anglican Priest who is also a pagan

From Canada-

Here at Tapestry we often receive personal and thoughtful letters from our listeners.

But a letter from Rev. Shawn Sanford Beck in Saskatchewan was unlike any we'd ever received before.

"Greetings from the prairies!

I am a 'ChristoPagan' ... I practice magic, study the runes, and talk to trees and fairies; ...and I am a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.

AND I'm an ordained priest in the Anglican Church of Canada.  For 15 years I've preached and pastored churches in my diocese.  I'm a regional dean, and I train other priests, deacons, and lay ministers.

What difference will women bishops make? Quite a lot, it seems...

From Christian Today--

A leading witch and herbalist shared a Church of England platform last night with other women religious leaders including the Presiding Bishop of the US Episcopal Church and Gogglebox tv vicar Rev Kate Bottley.

Helene Mobius, who heads the prison chaplain ministry of the Pagan Federation, challenged stereotypes of women at the event, the latest in the Westminster Faith Debates series at London's liberal flagship church, St James's Piccadilly.

The Pagan Federation and the Druid Network have recently become fully-fledged members of Britain's religious establishment, having been voted into the Inter Faith Network UK as a body representative of its community.

Druid couple finds Dreamland in Vermont

From USA Today- (slightly off topic (as if we had one))

According to an essay by Julius Caesar, the average ancient Celt generally had to train for two full decades in order to become a druid.

Several millennia later, people can complete a course at the Green Mountain School of Druidry in three years. They're even able to achieve this goal by email, though that's likely to take a bit longer.

Ivan McBeth and his wife Fearn Lickfield offer these lessons from their hilly 70-acre Worcester homestead, dubbed Dreamland. There, McBeth has assembled a circle of 13 standing stones for druidic purposes.

Last weekend, the couple conducted a summer solstice ceremony at another megalith that McBeth, now 61, created a few years ago: The Burlington Earth Clock in Oakledge Park. It consists of 13 granite stones, some 10 feet tall, donated and transported by the Rock of Ages Quarry in Barre. They're aligned like a compass, with a diameter of 43 feet. In the center, there's a sundial.

FAQ #8 The Archbishiop of Canterbury, a Druid?

Q. The realigner's blog claims that the Archbishop of Canterbury is a druid. Is this true?
http://episcopaliansforrealignment.blogspot.com/

A. Well yes and no. He is a druid in the same way that the Queen of England is. It's difficult to explain and is probably in the category of "They're always be an England". The BBC does a pretty good job though and here's the link. Maybe it should be called "The Society of Silly Hats!
