Fake courier makes off with church deposit

From Ft. Worth Texas

The same morning, St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Frisco reported to police that a man in a blue collared shirt, khaki shorts and I.D. badge around his neck falsely identified himself with the same courier service for the same bank and was handed the bank bag by church staff.

"This is the first we know of that anything like this has happened," said the Rev. Doug Walker, the pastor who, along with his congregation, was shocked at the idea someone would steal from a church.
More than 200 checks were in the bag given to the imposter Sept. 29. It contained only $2,740 in cash, according to a police report.
