In MiamiFor 60 or so bell ringers in town this weekend, there's nothing quite like the feeling of pulling a long rope and hearing the glorious, melodic sound that results. That aural experience, which dates back to the 1600s, will continue over the next few days as the North American Guild of Change Ringers holds its annual meeting at Miami's Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
''It's a centuries-old tradition, and we're trying to keep it alive for future generations,'' said Rob Bannister, bell tower captain of the Miami Guild of Change Ringers.
