Good Stuf in TEC: California
Church Cleans Up the Coast
Members from Christ Episcopal Church in Alameda joined forces with Crab Cove in an organized beach clean-up at Crown Memorial State Beach Sunday, May 17.
On the same day, other members from the parish were breaking ground on the new community garden.
The congregation will grow fresh vegetables for the weekly food pantry that they host every Tuesday in the parish hall.
The projects were done in the morning and afterwards, the two groups met at Crown Memorial for a worship service and celebratory barbecue picnic.
Both projects were organized by Christ Church's Outreach Commission, and the objectives were to reach out to assist and serve the community of Alameda.
The community garden will be an ongoing project, and they hope to participate in the beach cleanup on an annual basis.
