Bombs Explode Near Church

From Boston- (with video)

Two homemade bombs exploded near a Marshfield church Saturday night.

The Rev. Barbara Peterson said she saw a bright light as she was leaving the Trinity Episcopal Church at about 7:30 p.m.

"As we were driving up the road, there was a white flash. We pulled in the driveway and called 911," Peterson said.

"I thought it was at first a very strong lightning bolt," witness Bill Wrenn said.

"And it turned out there was a bomb down here by the driveway, and then another there was another one in front of the church," Peterson said.

The bomb exploded on the church's property on Highland Street, but did not cause any damage to the building, officials said.

Several residents called police reporting that their homes were shaken by something, police said.
