From Rio Grande-Canon Rev. Raymond Raney of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Edgewood was recently named Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande. He has served at Holy Cross since February 2007.
Raney is set to replace The Rev. Canon Daniel G. P. Gutierrez as CATO. Gutierrez was recently named Bishop-Elect of Pennsylvania.
“Nobody can replace Daniel. He has a skill set that nobody else has,” Raney said.
