For Nancy Gault and Eve Pinckney, being Episcopalian is part of their identity.
So when the majority of the congregation at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ridgeland voted to leave the faith in January 2013, the two women decided it was time to move on.
Theological differences had led to a deep-set schism in the church, resulting in dozens of congregations choosing to break away from the National Episcopal Church.
