Good Stuf in TEC: Virginia

Local Church Works to Fight Hunger

A local church is busy working to fight hunger.

Saint John's Episcopal in Waynesboro spent the morning packing over 10,000 meals in a bag in under an hour.

The meals will go to the "Stop Hunger Now" organization.

They were also setting up for their annual fair. This is the first year the church has worked with food banks, and say it's the biggest project they've done with the fair.

"Well because there is a inordinate amount of hunger and hungry people in the Waynesboro area, and that's one of our missions here at this church," says Fair Organizer George Townsend.

The group is selling plants, playing games, and having a silent auction.

All proceeds from the fair are going to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
