From The Episcopal Church-
Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has issued the following statement:
I have read the recent statement from Bishop Bill Love of the Diocese
of Albany and am aware of the deep hurt on all sides of the issues it
addresses. I have been, and will continue to be, in conversation with
Bishop Love about this matter. Along with other leaders in The Episcopal
Church, I am assessing the implications of the statement and will make
determinations about appropriate actions soon.
We are committed to the principle of full and equal access to, and
inclusion in, the sacraments for all of the baptized children of God,
including our LGBTQ siblings. For as St. Paul reminds us in Galatians 3,
“in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of
you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there
is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
